I’ve been called out to participate in the ALS Ice Bucket Challenge to raise awareness. Amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS), what’s referred to as “Lou Gehrig’s Disease”, is a terrible disease. Anyone who’s had a loved one go through it or if you’re only exposure has been reading ‘Tuesdays with Morrie”, you know this (if you haven’t read it, you really should). Definitely food for thought.
And in using food, namely Krispy Kreme donuts, a gentleman named Chris Rosati, who has ALS, went on a quest to give away donuts and has now taken it to a new level – in a segment on CBS Sunday Morning, Chris has extended his good deeds to challenging others to commit acts of kindness. “You have the ability to change the world with just an act of kindness. Let’s just have fun making people smile.”, says Chris. No truer words have been spoken and his campaign for kindness is one we should be taking on every day. He shows us there are no excuses. Watch it here: Chris Rosati’s Random Acts of Kindness on CBS Sunday Morning.
My good friend Randi Ginsberg challenged me and I had the sweetest young ladies help me by filming and dousing me – Sister Morgan Matthews, Sister Rachel Udy, and Sister Marissa Groberg.
I’ve challenged Michael Turner of GioHomes Real Estate, June Brewer of GA Horse Events, and Sal Scognamillo of world-famous Patsy’s Restaurant on 56th St NYC – They have 24 hours to take the ALS Ice Bucket Challenge or donate $100 to the cause!
For your viewing pleasure (and yeah, it ain’t pretty), here’s proof that I completed the challenge! Ha!
